i found a letter i wrote
just when my granpa went away.
Here goes..
To the best man, father and grandpa
Atuk, i will always remember word for word
you said.
do you know that i wasnt ready for you to go.
At the hospital, i told God
i wanted to be in your place
i rather suffer than you
i wish we would trade places
I wanted you to fight your way
but i know that you were suffering
so i had to accept than you might go
Atuk b4 you left, you achieved everything
wanted in life, but left something
in our family, you left good memories
you was/is and will always be the best grandpa
Everytime im leaving your place
after you went to buy food for
kak mi and my family
you would give me $ running
to his room to take it and remind
to cross the road properly
you always give me $ to buy food
in sch but i didnt.
i put it in my coin bank, knowing you might
go someday.and all the $ is what i had of you
your a strong man
although your eyes is blurry...almost blind
but without fail you went Geylang every week.
i remember you brought me to Geylang to eat
your fave satay babat and corn drink with corn inside
i reluctant to eat but went i eat it i was hooked
Eerytime i go to your place
hope to be greeted by you
you werent there
i really wish time would go back
but i know i have to accept the fact.
Atuk i love you too much & no one can replace you
NOone
Love your granddaughter
